Ernest Malcolm "Lewis" Stone

It is with heavy hearts after a lengthy battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Lewis Stone at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, N.B. on September 3, 2015.

Born on May 23, 1941 in Juniper, the son of the late Ernest Stone and Gladys Gallop. He graduated from Maritime Forest Ranger School in 1961. The greater part of his working career was spent as a loyal employee of J.D. Irving, Limited. He truly loved every facet of his work.

Lewis was first and foremost a devoted family man, who led by example and a strong faith in God. His love of nature, the forest, the preservation of the Atlantic Salmon, were always on his mind. He was loved by all who knew him and held in high esteem by those he worked with and whose lives he touched by his gentle spirit.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Loraine (nee, Cote) Stone, their children Troy (Angela) of Bath, N.B.; Anissa of Fredericton, N.B.; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Mackenzie , Andrew, Mathieu, Jean, Anne and Sam; his brother, Lynn (Karen) of Bangor, Maine, sisters June Boucher (Don) of Wicklow, N.B., Meona Stone of Valmont, B.C and sister-in-law's, Grace and Rosanne Stone as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his two brothers, Richard and Allison.

Arrangements are under the direction of L. R. Giberson Funeral Directors in Florenceville-Bristol, N.B. Vistitation will be on Sunday, September 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church at 3:00 p.m. On Monday, September 7th., with Father John Keoughan officiating.
