It is with great sadness that the family of Muriel Jean Hunter announces her passing on Wednesday, October, 21st at the age of 83.

Muriel was the beloved wife of Gerald Hunter, dear mother to Stephen Hunter (Nancy), Darlene Maddox (Kevin), Brent Hunter (Julie), and the late Lorraine Hunter, and dear Grandmother to Sally Hunter of Victoria, BC, Michael Hunter of Windsor, ON, Mary Maddox of Toronto, ON, and Emma Maddox of Calgary, AB. She is survived by one beloved brother, Donny Cluff of Woodstock and was predeceased by her bothers Malcolm and Allan Cluff.

Muriel was born in Woodstock, NB on May 21st of 1932. She was the daughter of the late Clifford B Cluff and the late Mildred Gibson. Muriel spent her childhood in Northampton and Richmond corner, attended the Woodstock Vocational School and worked for six years at the Bank of Montreal in Woodstock. In June 25th 1955, she married Gerald Hunter, moved to Stickney, NB and raised four children on the banks of the St. John river.

In the 1970’s, she became the Stickney Postmaster and was dedicated to that position until her retirement in 1990’s. Muriel was an active member of the Stickney Freewill Baptist Church and the Stickney Seniors Club. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and will be dearly missed.

The family extends an invitation to attend a celebration of life with visitation held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Brian Bradley will officiate. Interment will be in the Hunter Community Cemetery.
