Alice S. DeMerchant

The death of Alice Shirley DeMerchant ,of Clearview, occurred on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Perth Andover. Born August 10, 1922 in River de Chute, she was the daughter of the late Wendell and Mildred (Barker) Bishop. She was also predeceased by her husband, Elwood; 1 infant son, Norman; 1 grandson Brad; 5 siblings, Roy, Albert, Ruth, Bona and James; 1 sister in law, Audrey Bishop.

Alice is survived by her 5 children, Basil DeMerchant (Sandra), Hayward DeMerchant (Carol), Paul DeMerchant (Sherry), Mildred Nicholson (Keith) and Lewis DeMerchant (Debbie); 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Eva Till (Alton); 1 brother, Carl Bishop as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from the Pentecostal Lighthouse, River de Chute on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 3:00 pm from the church. Rev. Andy DeRier will be officiating. Interment will be in the Pomphrey Cemetery.
