Jessie E. Demerchant

Jessie Emma (MacKay) DeMerchant, born February 19, 1922 in Wapske, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at the URVH on Saturday June 18, 2016 with her children by her side. She was the daughter of Frederick and Lily Brown (Tompkins) MacKay. Jessie was married to Roderick Lee DeMerchant for 45 years before his passing on March 12, 1991. She was predeceased by her father, mother, husband and siblings – Marion, Muriel, Archie, Olys and Gerald.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Patricia Lee (Richard) Fisher, her sons Terry Kay (Caroline) and Dennis Roderick (Jane), her grandchildren Ritchie Fisher (Wendy), Dana Fisher (Berdie), Randy Fisher (Amanda), Jacquelin Gordon (Troy), Tammy DeMerchant (Jeremy Clowater), Cristy DeMerchant (Jay Doherty), Jason DeMerchant (Angela). Jessie had 13 great grandchildren – Katelyn, Bradley, Denise, Andrew, Ruthie, Rhys, Matthew, Tanner, Cewen, Kai, Seth, Sage, and Suzy. She also left behind 2 sisters in law Viola MacKay and Rena Crawford and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Hunter Cemetery, Stickney.
