Weldon L. Matthews

Weldon Lambert Matthews passed away Thursday, August 4th, 2016 at Upper River Valley Hospital, after a 13 month battle with cancer, which he faced with dignity, grace, and good humour.
Born in Sydney, Cape Breton, on December 2nd, 1949, Weldon was predeceased by his father, Murray Matthews.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Mary Matthews; his sister, Marlene Wilkes (Marvin); nieces Tara McInteer (Tim) and Cassy Daraiche (Sylvain), grand nephew, Dominique all of Edmonton as well as several cousins. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and soul mate, Jeannie Matthews of Wicklow, and his four beloved cats.

A celebration of the life and work of Weldon Matthews will be held at Carleton North High School on Tuesday, August 9th. Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 to 7:00, to be followed by a celebration in the Carleton North Theatre.
