Michael "Mike" Kilfoil

1991-2016

Michael "Mike" Kilfoil
The death of Michael "Mike" David Kilfoil of Fredericton and formerly of Johnville occurred on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton at the age of 25. Born August 7, 1991 in Bath he was the son of Joseph and Alma (Connors) Kilfoil.

Michael will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor. He literally stood out in a crowd. He was an eternal optimist, always showing unmatched kindness to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Mike was always up for a game of pick up hockey whether it was at the Johnville rink, the pond next door or anywhere. He loved to stay active and was always a great sport. He enjoyed being part of the church community at home in Johnville and recently in Fredericton. After graduating from UNB in 2014 with a Civil Engineering degree, Michael continued his employment with Varcon Inc. He was dedicated to his work, employer, and profession. Mike loved the opportunity he was given to climb and inspect the towers.

Through his entire life, Mike showed incredible enthusiasm and commitment to his family, friends, education, and work. The determination and bravery he displayed through his life and especially during his recent surgery and recovery was an inspiration to all. He was very thoughtful and appreciative to all who helped him along life’s journey. Love is patient, love is kind, and that’s what Mike showed us, because that is who Mike was. "Heaven is a better place today, but the world will never be the same”

Mike is survived by his parents, Joe and Alma; 5 siblings, Leo Kilfoil (Jenna), Simon Kilfoil, Kathleen "Kathy" Campbell (John), William "Bill" Kilfoil (Melissa) and Gerrard Kilfoil; 6 nieces and nephews, Callum, Alexis, Charity, Hardy, Colby and Shea; grandmother, Geraldine Connors as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and long time friend Amanda.
