Audrey L. Bartley

On October 25, 2016, Audrey Bartley, 94, of Greenfield passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Audrey was born on July 16, 1922 to Wilmot and Cora (Ebbett) Ritchie. Upon completion of high school in Florenceville, she attended Provincial Normal School in Fredericton obtaining her teaching license in 1942. She taught school in Woodstock, Knoxford, East Centreville and Greenfield.

On October 22, 1949, she married Herman Bartley of Beaconsfield. Audrey is survived by four children, Brenda Keenan (Neil) of Florenceville, Nancy McAuley (Gordon) of Greenfield, Brent (Faye) of Canton, NY, and Janet Gillis (Mike) of Moncton, 11 grandchildren and 4 great granddaughters, one sister, Vera Shaw (Gerald) of Mars Hill, ME and several nieces and nephews.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents Wilmot and Cora Ritchie, Herman, her husband of 62 years, and her sister, Eleanor Tremblay.

Audrey was a life long member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church and the Greenfield Ladies Guild, holding the position of Secretary/Treasurer for many years as well as a member of the Vestry.
Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and grandmother and always cherished the times when the family could get together. She had a passion for quilting, embroidery, gardening, reading, travelling, cooking, baking and most of all loved her family gatherings. She had an avid interest in Canadian as well as US politics, entertaining many discussions about the state of affairs and her views on them.

Visitation will be held at L. R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Road, Florenceville-Bristol, NB on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 11am at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Greenfield, 626 Backland Road, Greenfield, NB . Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery following the service.
