TOMPKINS, Earl Delancey, passed peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on May 27th, 2019 in his 94th year, born in Oakland, June 29th, 1925. Beloved husband of Rowena Fisher. Dear father of Debra Mann, Janet Tompkins, Dana Tompkins (Kathy), Nelda Lapage (Warren), Mary Ann Hull (Hollis), Douglas Tompkins (Sandra) and Donald Tompkins. Loving grandfather of Laura Mann (Derek Hammond), Susan Mann, Rebecca Tompkins, Kristen Brekelmans (Travis), Aaron Lapage (Andrea), Wade Lapage (Conor), Tyson Lapage, Lance Lapage, Erica Hull (Oakley Trecartin), Emily Hull, Elizabeth Tompkins, Evan Tompkins. Great-grandfather of Kinsley and Adalyn Lapage; Isabelle Johnston and Jordyn Lapage; Thomas and Lennon Trecartin. Also survived by siblings Sherry Martin (Romeo), Joe Tompkins, Pete Tompkins (Virginia) and in-laws Barbara Tompkins, Clinton Fisher (Ruth), Arlene and Olys Ebbett and Richard and Pat Fisher and a large extended family.
Pre-deceased by his parents Ernest Tompkins and Annie Rideout, siblings Dalton, Velma McLean, and Howard, a son Derrick, son-in-law Alfred Mann, sister-in-law Mary Lou Tompkins and brother-in-law Bernard McLean.

Earl and Rowena were married 68 years. After marrying they went to Kitchener, Ontario where they lived for a few months before returning to Oakland where they settled and had their first 5 children. Earl began working for Atlas Construction when the company built the Hugh John Flemming bridge at Hartland. After the Beechwood Dam was completed he followed the company to Quebec where he worked for several years before moving the family to LaSalle, PQ in 1964. While there, 3 sons were born. After working at Churchill Falls, Labrador they returned to live at Florenceville. Earl enjoyed a long and active retirement doing odd jobs for many neighbors in the area.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Paul Smith will officiate. The interment will be in the Hunter Cemetery, Stickney, with a time of fellowship at the Stickney Rec Center to follow.
