Carl A. DeMerchant
1937-2020
The death of Carl Addington DeMerchant formerly of Bath, NB occurred
on June 29, 2020 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB.
Born on July 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Nehamiah & Eileen
(Smith) DeMerchant. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Sheila
MacDougall and Gloria Denny; and two nephews, Keith MacDougall and
Danny Denny.
Carl is survived by his four children, Debbie Witmer, Sharon Ouellette (Johnny), Brian DeMerchant (Susan) and Carl Jr. DeMerchant (Heather); Grandchildren, Brian, Bobby, Ashley, John Paul, Jason, Jordan, Ashley, Alex and Emma; Great Grandchildren, Eva, Allison, Ceiara, Auroa, Tyler, and Brenna; Brothers, Gary (Margaret), Brian and Joe; Sisters, Beatrice Giberson, Donna Sherwood, Bev Arlow, and Jean Bristow (Ken); 2 brothers in law, Leo Denny and Ronald MacDougall as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A public graveside committal service will be held in the Gee Cemetery in Beechwood, on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Bill Frenette will officiate. For those who wish, memorial donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Carl's family would like to thank Loraine and Justin for the care they gave to Carl as he made the Lansdowne Special Care Home his home for the past four years as well as Dr. Marco and the staff of 4 North at the URVH, Waterville.
