1948-2020

Geraldine R. Perry
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine Ruth Perry on November 9th, 2020. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents Frank and Alice, her beloved brother and partner in crime Ray Perry. Geraldine is survived by her daughter and pride and joy Naomi “nomi”, Her Granddaughter Audrey Ray, her remaining siblings Cynthia, Austin (Teresa), Brian (Denise) and Maxine. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Dana, Denise (Mike), Candace, Stefan and Richard (“her boys”), Morgan (Zerlene), Jennifer, Amelia, Matthew and many cousins.

Geraldine was born in Upper Kent, New Brunswick on April 30th, 1948 and resided there until the age of 15, she then moved to Kitchener Ontario but found her way back to New Brunswick where she spent the majority of her life. She relocated to Alberta in 2007 to be with her daughter Naomi. This is where she lived until her passing. She spent the last year overcome with complete joy after becoming a grandmother to her precious Audrey Ray. Geraldine attended Audrey’s birth and was very much a hands-on Grammy. Geraldine passed peacefully in her home with Naomi and Audrey Ray nearby.

Geraldine was best known for her unconditional love and kindness to everyone she met most importantly her family. Her most common phrase being “a little bit of kindness goes a long way”. She was also a talented oil painter and had a definite green thumb when it came to gardening. She was most happy when outdoors whether in her garden or picking berries, fiddleheads and oh so many potatoes. Many would find her in her garden if they were to drive up her driveway on a nice day.

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to the Grande Cache hospital staff with special thanks to Dr. Esther Barnard and Dr. John Gillett for their very personal and exceptional care. Geraldine often spoke of her admiration and appreciation she had for both “Essie and John”. The gentle touch the hospital staff showed her shall never be forgotten.

She will be so desperately missed, her hugs and her “I love you and am so proud of you” will never be forgotten and will forever be imprinted on all of us.
