Graydon E. Oakes

The death of Graydon Elmer Oakes of Holmesville occurred on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the River View Manor, Bath. Born July 2, 1924 in Easton, Maine he was the son of the late Samuel and Bessie (DeMerchant) Oakes. Graydon was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose; 2 sons, Ellery and Doug (Mary); great grandson, Wyatt; daughter in law, Marion; 5 siblings, Maxine Broad, Junior Oakes, Denis Oakes, Dean McDougall and Mary Crain.

Graydon is survived by his 5 children, Sam Oakes (Jean), Sandra Oakes, Bill Oakes (Laurie), Joanne Guest (Fred) and Jeff Oakes (Robyn); 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 11-1 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm in the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Toben Steeves will officiate. The interment will be in the Mineral Cemetery.
