Earl Anson Crain
Surrounded by his family, Earl Anson Crain of Piercemont passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the age of 58. Born on November 9, 1951, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Carrie (DeMerchant) Crain and husband of the late Carol Addie (DeMerchant) Crain.

Earl, a devoted Christian man, was involved in many aspects of the Holmesville Freewill Baptist Church. He has served as deacon, trustee, and usher throughout the years. He was also involved in many areas of his community. He was a long-time loyal member of the New Brunswick Progressive Conservative Party. He has served as a board member of the District Schoolboard and, more recently, as a board member of the Riverview Manor. He will be fondly remembered as a tireless servant and worker, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Earl is survived by his seven children, Kim Brooks (John Lee), Gary (Tina), Jimmy, Adam, Michelle Williams (Andy), Mitchell (Amy) and Melissa Ogden (Tony), ten grandchildren, Ashley, Nick, Chelsey, Mason, Travis, Trevor, Wyatt, Miah, Addie and Carson, seven brothers, Gaylon, Wavel (Dianne), Hilton (Vilo), Charles, Hugh John (Terri), David (Sharon) and Clifford (Eileen), five sisters, Shirley Clowater, Alta Wright (Russ), Connie Flemming (Bob), Lorraine Hoyt (Bruce) and Andrea Lint (Roy) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Carol, three brothers, Duncan, Larry and Donnie.

Visitation will be held from the Holmesville Free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Holmesville Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Murray officiating. Interment will be in the Mineral Cemetery. Donations made to the Homlesville Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, Mineral Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
