Elsie M. J. Doherty

The death of Elsie Mae Jean Doherty, of Lakeville, occurred on January 11, 2011 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. Born on October 10, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Kingham) Lifford and wife of the late Perley Hersol Doherty.

Elsie is survived by her step-children, Elmer Doherty (Jeanette), Geneva Bonar (James), Alberta Doherty, and Joan Dallas (John); her children, Ann Annis, Sheila Lovely, and Raymond Lifford (Kim); Grandson, Lee McCoy (Erin); Granddaughters, Sarah and Cheryl Lifford; Chosen granddaughter, Vera DeLong (Dave); Nephews, Donald Scott (Louise) and Keith Scott (Frances) and one niece, Shirley Scott.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Perley, son John, step-daughter Erma and sister Dorothy Scott.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville on Friday, January 14th, 2011 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev Eldon Hicks will officiate. Interment will be in the Fielding Cemetery.
