McINTOSH, EDITH … At the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews, NB on Monday, January 14th, 2013; Mary Edith Ida (Hanson) McIntosh, wife of the late Fraser John McIntosh of Bath, NB. Born in St. Andrews she is the daughter of the late Daniel Gerald & Cecil Blanche (Hewitt) Hanson.

A graduate of Mount Allison University with the Class of 1941 Edith obtained her degree in Arts, honoured in French. She taught school on Deer Island , where she met her husband.They were married in 1943 and celebrated 60 years together, moving to Bath in 1945 where she was an active member of her local church as their organist. Edith also loved to garden,swim, play bridge and make many beautiful quilts. While at Mount A she swam competitively.

Edith is survived by her 2 daughters Margaret Ashe (Frank) of Rothesay , NB , Ann McIntosh of Iqaluit , Nunavut , one son John McIntosh of Glassville , NB , 2 grandchildren Ellen and Erin Ashe. Edith was predeceased by her husband, infant son James Kenneth and brothers Graham & John Hanson.

By Edith's request cremation has taken place.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on February 3rd, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Faith Memorial United Church in Florenceville. A reception will follow in the church hall. The interment will take place in the spring at the United Church Cemetery in Glassville. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Road, Florenceville, NB, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm on Saturday February 2nd, 2013.

Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Faith Memorial United Church would be appreciated by the family.
