John B. Black
The death of John Basil Black of Tracey Mills occurred on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born April 23, 1923 in Ludlow, NB he was the son of the late John and Florence (Stairs) Black. John was also predeceased by his wife, Leona, grand daughter, Kelly Lynne Berry; 7 siblings, Maye, Margaret, Mildred, Eva, Christina, Perley and Willard.

John is survived by his 9 children, Juanita Donovan (Melvin), Sheila Black, Sharon Black, Nancy Black (Bill), Valerie Elkins (Brent), Susan Thomas (Mark), John Black Jr. (Odette), Terri Everett (Aden) and Edie Morehouse (Gerald); 29 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 brother, Darrell Black (Jean); special friend, Jackie Forsythe; special neighbours, Jackie and Richard DeMerchant and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

John was discharged with honors from the Canadian Army on February 5, 1946 serving in WWII with the rank of Corporal. John served with 3rd Field Park Company 3rd Division, Royal Canadian Engineers.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 6-9 pm and Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 1-3 pm with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm in the chapel. Rev. Steven Teed will officiate. Interment will be in the Tracey Mills Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 37 will hold a tribute service Friday evening at 5:45 pm.
