Ruth F. Hunter

The death of Ruth Florence Hunter of Florenceville and formerly of Oakland, occurred on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. Born on May 22, 1938 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Juanita (Stoddard) Rideout. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Aubrey Pelkey and Earl Hunter; 1 son Malcolm and 1 grandson, Joel.

Ruth is survived by her 4 children, Alden Pelkey (Carol), Kendell Pelkey (Tina), Lynn Drinkwater (Dave) and John Pelkey (Mary); 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers. Eldon Rideout, Lester Rideout and Murray Lloyd; 6 sisters, Reta Schmitt, Star Drier, Paulette Cullins, Susan Hallett, Verna Isenor and Lynn White; her K-9 companion, Ricky as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 5-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brian Bradley officiating. Interment will be in the Gordonsville Community Cemetery at a later date.
