Janice I. Yorke
1962-2020
The death of Janice Isabell Yorke, of Gordonsville, occurred on May
14th, 2020 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. Born on
January 23, 1962, Janice was the daughter of the late Bruce and Edna
(White) Harvey. Janice was also predeceased by two siblings, Jimmy
Harvey and Lily Cullins as well as her mother in law, Theresa
Yorke.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Brent; 2 children, Adam Yorke (Jody) and Jessica Yorke; 2 grandchildren, Emma and Patrick; Siblings, Mary DeMerchant (Calvin), Fred Harvey, Betty Briggs, Billy Harvey (Sandie), Elaine Rogers (Lawrence) and John Harvey; Brother in Law, Carl Cullins (Eleanor); Sisters in Law, Viola Harvey-Walton (David), Leona Harvey (Weldon Wright), Elaine Brennan, Alexis Whittaker (Tim), Lori Delong, and Leah Rioux (Stephane) and in-laws Ernie and Linda Perkins. Janice has a large extended family with many nieces and nephews who loved her very much and who she loved to spend time with.
Janice worked until she was diagnosed with cancer at the Riverview Manor in Bath. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Women’s Institute. She was the “baby sister” in her family and was spoiled by her older siblings throughout her whole childhood. She was a sports lover and a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors. She loved music, being with friends and family, loved to cook (people raved about her cooking!) and loved her grandchildren tremendously. She was funny with her quick wit, kind with a loving and generous heart, but also had a feisty side. Janice was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 years ago and handled her illness with complete grace and a positive and strong-willed attitude. Janice will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Clay Marco for his dedication to Janice’s care as well as the wonderful Extra Mural staff who visited her regularly and provided so much support for Janice to live comfortably at home.
A private family Celebration of Janice's Life will be held from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. A public graveside service will be held in the Fielding Cemetery on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 3:30 pm. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or the Fielding Cemetery would be appreciated. L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, NB, have been entrusted with the care and arrangements. (506)392-1115 www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca
