Mark McCauley

1961-2022

Mark McCauley
The family of Mark McCauley sadly announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Mark was the beloved son of Martin and the late Nancy (Lockhart) McCauley.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Nancy Whyte McCauley, their son Brendan (Michelle), daughter Lindsay (Cameron), his father Martin and spouse Marilyn Brooks, brother Neil (Anne), sister Kim (Warren Tompkins). Extended family include his mother-in-law Elinor, brother-in law Jamie (Marina) and sister-in-law Anita (Brian). He was Uncle Mark to Baillie, Kieran, Torin, Sebastian, Benita, Danny, Mauricie, Everett and Laurier.

Mark loved life and filled every day with activity. He was a passionate chef and grill master, grinding and blending his own spices, feeding his friends and family and always seeking new dining experiences.
He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture for his children, doing construction and carpentry work at home and at the cottage. More recently he took up the woodcarving of birds.
Mark enjoyed the great outdoors: skiing, cycling, canoe trips on the Tobique, hiking, swimming and spending time at the cottage at Lac des Neiges. He loved to travel and took the scenic route whenever possible.

One of Mark’s great passions was working for McCain Foods for more than 30 years. He travelled the world focused on business and developed lasting friendships with his many colleagues. He was most grateful to McCain for their constant support throughout his career which allowed him to work as long as possible.

Mark was fortunate to be cared for by so many wonderful individuals working in health care. We extend our sincere thanks to them all, with deep appreciation for the care provided by his cardiologist Dr David Bewick and his family physician Dr Carter Kennedy.

Mark’s love for life inspires us all to follow in his footsteps and live life to the fullest.
