David L. Oakes

The death of David Lindsay Oakes of Florenceville-Bristol occurred on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. David was born June 20, 1953 and was the son of the late Avon and Audrey (Ruff) Oakes. He was also predeceased by his son, Kenny and 1 sister, Barbara.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his daughters, Alicia Smalley (Rick Rousselle), Sarah Farrell (Jeff) and Patti Oakes and her children, Emily, John and Samantha; grandchildren Ashlie, Parker and Ryland; great grandchildren, Paxton and Oscar; 4 siblings, Donna Ruff (Donald), Dana Oakes, Jamie Oakes (Nicole) and Debbie Perkins (Ricky) as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 4-8 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Mineral Cemetery. For those who wish donations made to the Mineral Cemetery or the River Valley Cancer Support Group would be appreciated.
