The Death of Larry David Derrah of Summerfield occurred on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Central Carleton Nursing Home, Hartland from a short battle with heart and liver failure. Larry was born May 21, 1947 in Toronto, ON. He was the son of the late James and Glenna (Cook) Derrah. He was also predeceased by 1 brother, Frank and Brother-in-laws Mack Sprague, Fream Brown, Ronald Brown.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary (Brown) Derrah ; 3 children, Robert Brown (Nancy Smith) , Leisa Brown (Denis Beaulieu) and Eric Derrah (Kathleen Ess);10 Grandchildren, Katherine (Michael) , Shayla (Steven), Akaisha(Branson) Smith; Jamall, Olivia, Mya, Aden Smith-Brown; Sophie and Laura Beaulieu and Sebastian Ess-Derrah; 4 great grandchildren, Silas, Michael, Emmalyn and Elaine ; 4 siblings, Linda Clark (Andrew) Dalton Derrah (Celeste), June Derrah and Denise Derrah as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family

A native of Bristol, NB, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from UNB. For 37 years he worked for McCain Foods Limited. Larry joined McCain in 1970 as Project Engineer, then Senior Project Engineer and Chief Engineer, Technology Worldwide. He contributed significantly to modernizing the face of McCain- pushing the introduction of automation before the idea was popular and helping to standardize their process lines by pulling together best practices that are used across the company.

Larry was a man of many interests, but he loved hunting, snowmobiling, scuba diving, cruising on the Spyder, world news and travelling.

Visitation will be held from L. R. Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1-3 pm. The celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 from the L.R. Funeral Chapel. For those who wish, donations made to the Bristol Community Cemetery would be appreciated.
