Gregory A. Lamoreau

1960-2023

Gregory A. Lamoreau
The death of Gregory “Joe” Allen Lamoreau of East Centreville occurred on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his home. Born April 14, 1960 in Bath he was the son of the late Janet (Walton) and Sterling Lamoreau. He was also predeceased by his brother, Stephen, niece, Rebecca Lynn and brother-in-law, Bruce Flemming.

Greg was the strong, silent type (in the best of ways). He was very patient and was always willing to lend an ear. He may not have said a lot, but he had great comedic timing and was known for his dry wit and endearing grin.

Greg graduated from Carleton North High School in 1978. He had many friends and was known by many as “Joe” or “Joe Cool”. He briefly attended UNB and played for the Varsity Reds hockey team during the 1980/1981 season. He then attended Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Greg was a talented athlete. He played on the Potato Kings hockey team, as well as other “old timers” hockey and basketball teams. He spent many hours as a loyal basketball and hockey fan for his children, and could often be heard yelling his go-to cheers from the crowd such as “Fire!” or “Turn on the Jets, Jilly!”

Greg was involved in all things potato farming, and even served a term on the NB Potato Agency Board.

He was a beloved father, son, brother and friend, a hardworking farmer, an amazingly speedy skater and so much more. He loved his family and pets so very deeply. He will be forever missed and remembered.

Gregory is survived by his 3 children, Ciara Stevens (Reggie), Jacob Lamoreau (Abbi) and Jillian Morrison (Jason); 2 grandchildren, Jack and Jayla; his father, Sterling; 4 sisters, Susan Michaud (Jean), Nancy Flemming (the late Bruce Flemming), Holly Trafford (Larry) and Pam Tompkins (Tom) as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 12-2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm in the L. R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Robert McNutt will officiate. The interment will be in the Centreville Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish donations made to Canadian Mental Health would be appreciated.
