Brent S. Elkins
It is with deep sadness that the family of Brent Samuel Elkins announces that he passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family. Brent was born in Bath NB on June 5 1952, the son of the late Samuel and Dora (Schriver) Elkins of Gordonsville NB. Brent was also predeceased by his brothers, Hugh and Donald Elkins.

Brent leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Valerie, 2 sons Samuel (Saphire) of Alberta , Conway (Stephanie) of Upper Kingsclear, 5 grandchildren Aspen, Nickolas, Abigail, Mary & Sarah, and one great grandson Axton, sisters Brenda Elkins & Cindy Bushby, sister in laws, brother in law, nephews , nieces , cousins & many friends.

Brent lived with his family in Gordonsville NB for the first 48 years of his life, then moved West to Alberta in 2000 where he continued to work in the forest industry moving equipment & hauling logs. Brent and Valerie lived there until 2018 when they returned East to retire in Woodstock, NB. In his “retirement” Brent continued to work part time driving for Day & Ross.

Brent drove truck all his life and he loved every minute of it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & most of all he loved teasing his family & friends. He cherished his grandchildren and they cherished “Grampy” right back. He was so proud of his sons whom he taught the value of hard work, and they were equally proud of the example he set for them. He was a loving husband to “Val” who was the center of his life, a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend.

Respecting Brent’s wishes there will be no formal visitation nor funeral service.

The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Kelly, all of the nurses in the oncology department in Upper River Valley Hospital, all of the Extra Mural Nurses that came to help Brent through this process. Everyone was so good to Brent through his 3 year battle, he fought hard & stayed positive right up to the end.
