Suzanne Burnham

1954-2024

Suzanne Burnham
Suzanne Letha Burnham passed away in her home in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on June 4th, 2024. Suzanne was born to Harry and Margaret (McKay) Burnham in Bath, New Brunswick on July 20th, 1954.

Suzanne was an extrovert with an introvert's hobbies. She had a passion for knitting and hand knit many afghans for the people she loved. She was a voracious reader who volunteered at many libraries throughout the country. Suzanne was a part of many different book clubs and was always encouraging others to read. She shared her love of reading with her daughters and her students.

Throughout her life Suzanne was a devoted elementary school educator. She moved around the country teaching in different provinces and continued to work as a substitute teacher after retiring from full time teaching.

Suzanne is survived by her two daughters Letha McAulay and Caelyn McAulay, her two sisters Libby Burnham and Janet Burnham McEacharn; and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Bill Burnham and her sister Lynne Marie Burnham.

Suzanne was always a deeply proud New Brunswicker and, in accordance with her final wishes, will be laid to rest in New Brunswick.

A Graveside service will be held on June 27th, 2024 at 10:00am from the United Church Community Cemetery on Maple Street in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick with Rev. Michael Goodfellow officiating. There will be a light reception following the interment at Faith Memorial United Church, all are welcome. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the United Church Cemetery Fund or donor’s choice would be appreciated.
