Kelley D. McSheffery

1970-2024

Kelley D. McSheffery
The untimely death of Kelley Dawn McSheffery occurred on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Moncton City Hospital. Kelley was born in Bath, New Brunswick on January 3, 1970 and was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Ruff) McSheffery. She was predeceased by both her Mum and Dad, numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. She is survived by her two sons, Allison Glass and Colin Glass, her life partner Toby Holden, Sister Judy Hennessey (Mark Doody), Brother Randy Ruff, Niece Jenna Robbins (Adam), Nephew Jared Ruff, Nephew Gregory Ruff (Martha Foster) and a very special great-niece Bria Marie Ruff. She is also survived by step-children Lindsay, Zackary and William as well as step-grandchildren Peyton, Brighton, Jayden and Kasyn as well as so many great friends that she has made over the years.

Kelley spent most of her working career with UPS and worked her way up through the company. She started out as an intern during her final year in Marketing with New Brunswick Community college and from there moved to being in customer service. She also held a position with them as a trainer and supervisor during her time in Moncton. She was transferred to UPS in Toronto to take on the role of Security Manager for UPS Canada. Due to downsizing she moved back to Moncton in 2021 and took some time to regroup. She was employed by Armour Transport Home Depot Division at the time of her death.

Kelley’s greatest accomplishment in life is her two boys, Allison and Colin. They were very active in sports from an early age, and she did what was needed to support that. When they were young Allison aspired to play in the NHL and Colin wanted to be the Zamboni driver making sure his brother had nothing but the best ice to play on. Sadly, neither of those dreams have been realized yet but they are still young and have time. Kelly was excited to relocate to Toronto for work as it gave her the opportunity to be closer to them. She was able to attend their sporting events and cheer them on through their high school years which meant so very much to her. She was so proud of the responsible, polite and extraordinary young men that they have become.

Kelley was a ray of sunshine, full of energy and laughter. A light that shone so brightly. Even in her sickness she continued to be concerned with others. She wasn’t afraid to die, she was afraid of leaving everyone behind with our grief. That’s who she was. Kind, loving, strong, always wanted those around her to be happy and made everyone feel special. No one was a stranger in her home. Everyone was welcome. When her boys would have friends over there was never a limit. The more the merrier. She loved to entertain whether it was kids, friends or family members. She touched so many lives in her short 54 years. When you are outside at night and the stars are shining, find the brightest one in the sky, that’s our Kelley.
