Marilyn J. Briggs

The death of Marilyn Joyce Briggs of Fielding occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Marilyn was born February 12, 1950, in Perth, NB and was the daughter of the late Ronald and Beatrice (Orser) Briggs. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Cody McLean and 1 sister, Rhonda Briggs; brother-in-law, Richard Knuthson; 1 aunt, Joyce Boyd.

Marilyn was a kind and gentle soul, she loved to cook and was well known for her delicious meals. Having her family around for Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays brought her the most joy. Marilyn never missed bingo, but she always made sure that Garnet had a hot supper and fresh cookies before she left the house.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Garnet; 1 daughter, Coleen McLean; grand son, Connell McLean; great grandson, Nash McLean; 1 brother, Edwin Briggs (Eleanor); 1 sister, Brenda Knuthson; her chosen sister, Marie Alward (Haldean) as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 4 pm from in Fielding Cemetery. For those who wish memorial donations made to the Fielding Cemetery would be appreciated.
