It is with a heavy heart that we sadly announce the sudden passing of Laurie A. Murphy of Upper Knoxford, NB at his home on May 3rd, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on June 25, 1962, in Bath, NB. Laurie was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Claudia (Porter) Murphy; sister Connie McAdam (Peter); and brothers-in-law John Anderson (Patricia) and Llewelyn Anderson.

He leaves behind his loving wife Bonny and their only daughter Merrietta; his siblings Debbie Lunn (Allen), Rayma Thorne (Raymond), John Murphy (Maureen), Ricky Murphy, Brenda Inman (Michael), Shelly Hayden (Cecil), and Shirley Murphy. His brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie Anderson (Julie), Merrietta Garland (Ronald), Dawn Mullen (Dennis), Kathy Briggs, and Wanda Anderson (Llewelyn); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Laurie and Bonny moved to Listerville, NB early in their marriage where they have made their home with an open kitchen door for friends, family, and neighbors to come in for a cup of tea and a chat.

Laurie worked at Thomas Equipment for over 25 years then went to work for Wallace Antworth at Florenceville Ag. In 2017 he went on to work for A & L Parts Inc. where he would retire from later this year.

Laurie had a passion for gardening and enjoyed fishing and hunting when he got the time. In the fall of the year there was always veggies to give away to anyone that came to visit.

Laurie volunteered with the Special Olympics for over the past 20 years with Bonny. Merrietta is a bowler for the Special Olympics, and Laurie enjoyed being with the athletes and cheering them on. He will be sadly missed by many.

A visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors on Friday, May 8th 2026, from 5 - 8PM. Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at 1:00PM with an interment at the Bristol Community Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Ryan will officiate. For those who wish, donations made to the Western Valley Region Special Olympics would be appreciated.
