Francis “Frank” F. Cluff

1941-2026

Francis “Frank” F. Cluff
Francis “Frank” Frederick Cluff of Skiff Lake, NB and formerly of Centreville, NB passed on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Riverside Court, Woodstock, NB, surrounded by family. Frank was born September 13, 1941 in Woodstock, NB and was the son of the late J. Francis “Frank” and Dorothy (McMullin) Cluff. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet, and his brother, James Cluff (Shirley).

Frank is survived by his 2 devoted sons, David Cluff (Anna) and Peter Cluff (Michelle Isaacs); 2 cherished grandchildren, Marisa and Noah; 2 nieces, Cathy Davies (Owen) and Susan Bustard (Clark) as well as several great nephews.

Born and raised in Woodstock, N.B., he was introduced to hard work early in life at the family-run sawmill. His loving mother's piano playing instilled music appreciation; her sons would perform in a military marching band. After graduating from Woodstock High School he obtained a degree in Physical Education from the University of New Brunswick. Upon graduation in 1965, he accepted a teaching position at Centreville Regional High School which set the stage for outstanding achievement as a basketball coach and official in the province. His dedication to the community, the sport and student-athletes left an enduring mark.

Passionate about the teaching profession and continuing education, he obtained his Masters and later retired as a Vice-Principal from Carleton North Senior High School in Bristol, N.B. He was rewarded with a lengthy retirement with Janet, largely at Skiff Lake, his favorite place on Earth. He pursued hobbies of reading, book club and playing bridge. His friends were numerous and he maintained an active social life. There was regular travel to visit family in Ontario and Newfoundland, and Florida was often home for the winter months. Frank will be remembered for the values he promoted: dedication to family, friendship, learning, honouring tradition and disciplined service.

Visitation will be held at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. The interment will be in the Kirk Cemetery, in Northampton, NB.
