Gord Galbraith
1947-2026
“With a Clear Mind I speak the Truth from my Heart”
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon “Gord” Robert Galbraith of Stickney shares his passing. He passed peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville with his wife, Phyllis, his brother Kenny, and sister-in-law Nikki and Phyllis’s sister, Connie by his side. Gord was born May 5, 1947, in Hamilton, ON and was the son of the late Robert and Isabel (Clarkson) Galbraith.
Before moving to New Brunswick, Gord worked for Westington in Hamilton, Ontario. Back then Gord was in a band with two of his good friends, they played at family weddings and all sorts of shindigs. Years later, Gord moved his family to Mount Forest, ON, where he built his own home on the Galbraith’s family farm and worked the farm as well. Later in years Gord left Ontario and headed to NB. There he would eventually meet his loving wife Phyllis and live happily.
Gord and his wife Phyllis lived alongside the beautiful St. John River. They had a picturesque sunset over the river every night. He loved music, played guitar and sang. He and Phyllis would jam together, her playing the piano, the accordion or simply harmonizing a song. They made beautiful music together, perfectly complimenting one another.
Gord also loved woodworking and crafted some nice walking sticks, each one had the initials SMD (small man dancing). He would give them away to people in the community.
Sadly, in 2015 our brother Gord was faced with the tragic loss of his daughter, Lisa Michelle she was the love of his life and the “the wind beneath his wings.”
Gord will be dearly missed by his wife, Phyllis; brother Ken (Nikki), sisters Betty (John), Pat (Art), and Bev; Phyllis’s sons Shawn Haines (Holly) and Sheldon Haines, her grandchildren, Walker, Jayden and Haley along with several nieces, nephews, and many special “kiddos”.
He will reunite with his beautiful daughter Lisa, his mother and father, brother Billy, nephew Dan and his chosen daughter, Susan.
Respecting Gord’s wishes there will be no formal services at this time. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the IWK Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
